So my period finally got started last night. I've been spotting all week and wondered if that was going to be it for this cycle. My LP has been 13 days for 3 cycles, and this one it was 15 days- so, either I got my O date wrong, or my LP was longer for some reason this month. I did get a CT scan about a week after I thought I O'ed, but I'm guessing it is unlikely that that caused my LP to be longer.
The CT scan was because I had some major pain on my right side, and the doctor wanted to rule out appendicitis. I'm wondering though if the pain was from a cyst, but I don't know how that works- can they rupture at any point in your cycle? How long does the pain last- this only lasted about 6 hours, and it hurt when I pushed down or took a deep breath, and it was almost like really really bad O pains. Anyway, it doesn't hurt anymore, thankfully.
I didn't temp last cycle because I hate temping, but I'm wondering if I should this cycle, like around when I get a positive OPK, to try to confirm.
Well, vent over, thanks for listening, H tries but there is only so much he can listen to me ranting about my body

I read that the egg releasing during ovulation IS a form of a cyst. I did a google search myself the other day because I had pains around CD16 with my lower right side as well that I also wondered if it could be appendicitis (but not really since I had zero other symptoms; mostly I was trying to tell myself I was imagining it just in case I was getting my hopes up that it was O. According to my temps however, it was O after all)
See if this explains anything for ya about your pain. Sorry about AF regardless.

The doctor that I saw about the pain said it could be ovulation pain, but I was pretty sure I had ovulated already. I used a couple of OPK's afterwards and they were negative. I do get left side pain when I ovulate, but it is a lot less intense then what I was feeling that day with the right side pain. If my ovaries switch off every month, then it would have been the right side's turn, but who knows. I usually only have O pain on the left side so I'm not sure.
TTOYF has a section on cysts and pain during your cycle which is also informative, if you have the book.

Well whatever it was, I'm glad it wasn't your appendix. That shit is serious!
