I'm in the middle of Jasper Fforde's latest Thursday Next book, The Woman Who Died a Lot. I love this series and this one definitely does not disappoint. I'll start Emma this weekend too for the readalong.

I just got Brave New World from the library last night. I am also finishing up Sold by Patricia McCormick. The writing style of the later is very interesting. It is aimed at YA, but it is written in prose that is almost poetry like. I would almost argue that the whole thing is prose poetry, which makes it more powerful for me.
I'm reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. I've been feeling a bit persecuted and downtrodden for not being all brash and take-charge lately, so I'm not sure if this is making me feel better or bitter.
Listening to Atlas Shrugged. I'm almost 40% through it after like a month. It's good that it's good!
I'm still listening to A Storm of Swords. I like it, just haven't been listening in the car as much. I'm also still working through Anna Karenina. It's picked up a bit for me so that helps. Plus the super short chapters are making it feel like I'm making more progress than I actually am. I just started Bared to You last night so I can return it quickly to the coworker who leant it to me. It seems like it'll be a quick read so hopefully I can finish it this weekend.
Started 2 yesterday. One is a novel length Harry Potter fan fic about Harry's son, James, which takes place right after the epilogue in the 7th book. It's just okay right now. You can get it for free on Goodreads if anyone wants it. It's called James Potter and the Hall of the Elder's Crossing, I think.
The second is the 5th Sookie Stackhouse book. Dead as a Doornail? I can't remember. I'm 1 chapter into it.
I'm reading Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey. I wasn't expecting much because it's written by the current Countess of Carnarvon (who lives at Highclere Castle), but the writing is quite good and it's as much about the historical context as the day-to-day life at the castle.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
Just got finished reading "Blackberry Winter" by Sarah Jio. She only has 3 novels out, but all of them are so captivating!! I couldn't put this one down! Definitely recommend. I'm currently reading "Defending Jacob" by William Landay.

I read that a few months ago; I thought it was interesting, though I kept picturing the actors as the characters in the books they lined up with.
I'm about a quarter of the way through The Marriage Plot, but it's not really grabbing me. It's the hardcover edition, so I will abandon it for the new Dennis Lehane on my Kindle when I travel next week, and I'm not really sure if I'll bother going back to finish it.

Sooo my new goal in life is to be this woman. I wasn't sure anyone could afford to still live there. IT'S SO BIG.

I've only read the Violets of March, but I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to reading the other 2 books she's written.

Just finished the third book in the Heros of Olympus series, Mark of Athena. I know, I know I've been in a reading rut lately and to get myself out of the rut, I have been reading children's literature. However, in my defense, I've been waiting for Mark of Athena for a year! My book club chose The Journal of Dora Damage by Belinda Starling and since I would like to get active in my book club again, I just got it for my Kindle. So we'll see what I have to report next week.

Just finished An Echo in the Bone on my kindle. Based on the reviews I've read, I'm about the only person in the world who had a really hard time getting into Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber. I didn't mind Voyager. And then it took me forever to finish Drums of Autumn. But then I flew threw the last three books.
Also just finished Let the Great World Spin - Colum McCann on audio. I liked it, mainly the stuff about the tighrope walker since I recently saw the documentary Man on Wire about the same stunt.
Almost done with Unweaving the Rainbow: Science, Delusion, and the Appetite for Wonder - Richard Dawkins which is ok, but aimed more at an audience with less science background then me I think. I agree with everything he discusses, but I don't feel challenged at all. I enjoyed his books on atheism more.
Just started Last Child in the Woods - Saving our Children for Nature-Deficit Disorder - Richard Louv
I'm currently reading Bringing Up Bebe by Pamela Druckerman and Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner. So far I'm really enjoying both of these books!! Not sure what to read next...!
I finished the last half of The Light Between Two Oceans and read The Night Circus. I loved loved loved The Night Circus and stayed up all night the second night to finish it. I couldn't put it down, and hated that I needed to sleep.
