Met a guy in the elevator at work last week. He introduced himself to me, but that was about it. Saw him again yesterday. Today he sent me an IM asking how I was, have a nice long weekend.
I'd imagine he's going to ask me out, but I can't say anything until he actually does right? He seems nice enough, but not someone I'd be interested in going out with.
Oh, to answer your question, I would probably keep answers short and sweet. Bully's method will work, but I don't like giving up info to people I don't really know or don't want to get to know. Then, if an invite ever came, I would just turn him down with a, "thanks, but no thanks," or an, "I'm seeing someone," or maybe even an, "I don't shit where I eat," kind of thing.
Either way, you should take it as a compliment that random guy in the elevator searched you out.

I wasn't inferring that you actually tell the truth about her plans. I was just saying it is an easy way to work in the BF. You can lie your ass off.
I feel like if I mention the bf, I'm assuming he's asking me out, when he could possibly just be trying to network. But I think he's going to ask me out, lol.

That's what I say just dont say anything abut your BF before he actually asks you out of you are definitely sure he is hitting on you.
