Soooo... why are we suddenly getting so many self declared "experts" answering threads.
As for being an organ donor, if I'm that seriously hurt that I'm pronounced dead (erroneously or not), they can have my organs.
Well, I usually post on RE/advice from groomz, but it's been slow so I lurked over here and finally saw something I know something about. Don't worry, won't make that mistake here again!
Oh please. We had a "forensic expert" post the other day. When you don't sign in and your first post is "I'm a blah blah blah" then yeah, you look suspicious.
Stick around and post more. I'm not really a bitch, I just play one on the internet.
If said others are also unavailable or incapacitated.
That sounds far-fetched.
How hard to they work to find next of kin? A spouse could entirely possibly have been in the same accident. I expect vehicle accidents are the largest source of stranger organ donations.

They will not harvest any organs unless they get permission from family or there is no next of kin. There are many ways to track down information on patients, even those that are out of town.

They often can't harvest organs from a MVC anyways because the trauma is extensive. Rarely is the brain dead but the other organs are functioning and not damaged. Most of what is donated from a car accident is tissue, sometimes eyes.

Blessed, did you see the forensic "expert" post? It was ridiculous, and it was a drive by posting from a newbie, so who the hell would know if it was really an expert?

I don't see pixy moderating anyone.
I think she said she was an office manager in a different thread to add to the lolsies.
