Please keep us updated on your trip! Specifically, wine and food. Hearing about the fantastic wine will give my currently-gestating self even more to look forward to after September. While I figure out how to stock up on certain favorites and ship them to the tundra.
Good for you for getting out and traveling and taking advantage of the trips you can!

Well I'm not sure se asia is known for its wines, but we did drink ourselves silly a couple weeks ago on our italy, spain, france whirlwind tour. Then again, I'm not sure that admitting that we got cheap box wine to smuggle in the cruise ship will help you live vicariously
There was a delicious bottle of vino mobile that we split during lunch in florence. It went well with the truffle sandwiches we bought for elevenses and afternoon check. Truffle butter on a butter roll. Drool.

You're killing me, smalls.
I don't care if you buy your booze at a convenience store. I want to hear about traveling, carefreeness and non-kiddo adult time. Not that I don't love my child, and the one occupying my mid section, but I dream of solo vacations. 'Tis all.

I don't know what kiddo time looks like for comparison.
I'm guessing it doesn't look like a quiet sunday morning, reading on my lanai, drinking coffee, and watching a frigate bird lazily drift on the up currents.
And, yes, we bought wine at the convenience store. It was 2.50 e for a box. We would have possibly gone to a real wine shop, but sundays in barcelona, only the asian markets were open.

I remember you (Sibil) asking somewhere about if we are going to visit Osan. We had discussed the whole command sponsorship thing, which we were going to look more into if AFPC hadn't figured out the follow on situation. They initially denied any follow on due to lack of retainability. They took another look and offered him Alaska (no.1 on OCONUS sheet) as a 3 year tour, after he agreed to an extension of 18 months.
So now, I may visit for a couple of weeks. I'd be going without the kids, though.
The plan right now is to get a rental in our homestate, nearish my family. I enrolled DS in a private preschool that is about 10 minutes from my parents so they would keep the kids while I ran off to enjoy some Korean sites. This depends on things like work, if I decide to take any classes for fun while there, etc. I'm excited to pack the year full of fun things!

Definitely go visit for a bit. Seoul is a great city with lots of palaces and food, and it's fairly easy to get to from Osan, both on bus and on subway. The DMZ is definitely worth visiting. Even though I put it off for a long time, it ended up being a highlight from all my time in Korea.
I think leaving kids behind definitely makes for a more fun year
