That's my thinking, neener. Conceptually this seems easier but it looks like it ends as a giant PITA. Also in the tray they are sliced, but in the bottom pic they are whole. SHENANIGANS!
I think I like this idea. But melting the chocolate is the most time consuming part of it to me. This looks like it could be less messy than dipping the strawberries and transferring them to cool. You could use a turkey baster to drop the chocolate into the ice cube tray.

hmm, the bottom one could be sliced. i can't tell for sure.

What (commercially) they've done here is dip the strawberries, and set them simultaneously in a form to make a chocolate bar. I've seen these at specialty shops.
