I've only read the first book, One for the Money. So I'm no expert on the series or the characters. I actually just listened to it on audio last month. It was ok. It was a bit dated, with talk of car phones and answering machines and scrunchies and other late 80s references. But it was fairly entertaining fluff to listen to during my commute.
There are a lot of terrible reviews out there on the movie. But honestly, I didn't think it was that bad. I've always liked seeing movies just after reading the book and seeing the differences in how I imagined things. People seem to really hate Katherine Heigl, but apparently the author thought she was perfect for the role. I thought the guy playing Morelli was perfect. Ranger was not at all how I imagined him, but that guy was a pleasant/hot surprise. ; )
Any Stephanie Plum fans? I guess there are like 25 books. Should I keep going?
I love the Stephanie Plum series. It's total crap... But just a fun read. They played the movie on my flight to Rome a few weeks ago. It wasn't a great movie, didn't really capture the characters well... But it was cute and fun.
I remember seeing somewhere that Janet Evanovich wanted Sandra Bullock to play Stephanie, but she was beyond Stephanie's age by the time the movie was being cast. I just got the movie through Netflix so I guess I can judge it this weekend.

I've never read any Stephanie Plum and this is completely off topic, but I used to think my Uncle's car phone was the coolest thing on the planet when I was younger. Scrunchies were also kind of amazing when I was 8 and I'm happy they are no longer in fashion.
I just wish Amazon would remove this ad from my Kindle. I swear, I've had this ad since Christmas and I'm sick of seeing it. I didn't realize the movie was based on a book.

Well it IS dated. It was first published in 1994.
As for the rest of the series, I kind of got board before the 10th book. They're fun reads, but not my go-to for fluff.
The movie was meh and I'm glad I only paid $1 for it at Redbox.
I haven't seen the movie or read the books but I've been thinking of starting the series as I have caught up on all the Sookie Stackhouse books and I need a new fluff series. I think I'll redbox the movie tonight:)
