I'll admit that of the "fancy" cupcake places around here, I've only been to Cupcake Royale. I *love* their carrot cake cupcakes, and the fresh strawberry they make during the summer is really good, too.

I have only been to cupcake places a couple time. I know this is blasphemy, but I really hardly enjoy them much - especially for the price. I actually prefer my own cupcakes. I found this good recipe online with sour cream in it, and it's always a hit. It's just plain white cake with vanilla butter cream. I like them very sweet!

The best cupcake I've had was a vanilla one with berry whipping cream frosting/filling. It's from a local bakery around here!

I've never had CR or TC but I like this place over here called Bella Cupcakes and they have a strawberry lemonade one that I like. It's strawberry cake with tangy lemon frosting and it has a lemon filling.

I like Bella too! I like the French Toast one with the french toast cupcake, maple frosting and bacon. Yum.

ironically enough I don't really like cupcakes but (not to toot my own horn) those vanilla/vanilla cupcakes I made were the bomb dot com. I shamelessly borrowed the cupcake and frosting recipes so I really can't take much credit!

it's ok though.. they were SO good. i recently made frosting and if i had vanilla bean, i bet it would taste like yours, larzhope. i used mexican vanilla instead.
