We started with Dr. Brown's, but switched to exclusively BornFree after the first week or two. I think they have just as many parts, but for whatever reason, they were easier to wash. Eventually we wised up and just threw everything into a dishwasher basket instead of dealing with them by hand.
tommee tippees are great, you can get them at Target and BRU and they run sales pretty often so watch for them.
the nipples are not as slow as the Dr. Browns though. We had a lot of leaking out the corners of her mouth until she was able to swallow faster.
My FAVORITE thing about them are the formula dispensers that you store inside the bottle for on the go. They are awesome. They are also super quick and easy to clean.

I use a mix of Dr. Browns and similac brand bottles for my kids. They seem to be able to switch back and forth with no problem. I got the similac ones free with formula, but you can buy them separately. I hate the Dr. Browns for the same reason as you. A man must have invented this damn bottles.
We used the playtex drop ins, too. You can recycle the disposable liners, which made me feel a little better. I found them easy to clean and plan to use them again if we ever have #2. You can get the Target brand liners for less than the playtex ones.
We use the glass Dr. Brown's (not helpful - I know). But if you like them, why not just get a few dishwasher baskets for them - makes it super easy - the extra parts don't bother me at all since I don't have to wash them.

We use drop ins but in retrospect I'm not crazy about having to buy the liners all the time. I guess you're paying for the convenience of very easy hand washing, but paying $15/month for the inserts when that would buy several ready-to-go bottles of another brand is not my favorite thing.
Thanks for all the recs. I am certainly leaning toward the Playtex dropins, but the crunchy in me is finding it hard to rationalize all the waste from the liners.
