I would call the after hours nurse line right now for your OBs office. You don't want it to get worse and I think they would page someone for you to call in a prescription. If the OBs office won't do it, call your primary care doc.

Call the OB's office. Mine had some suggestions and a when to come in for meds. The nurse on call was very nice and helpful.
If they aren't helpful, feed as much as you can from that side, apply a warm moist compress to the affected area, nurse or pump so the affected area would drain (can't explain this well, but it usually requires laying down or hanging over your kid). And you can take ibuprofen (I think, google it though) for the inflammation/pain. Good luck. It sucks.
Call both and get whoever responds first to phone in the abx. Or go to urgent care right now. Don't call tomorrow, call right now.
When I had mastitis the primary care doc had me drive right over and I was seen within the hour, at 4pm on a Thursday. At a practice where merely being seen within a week for any issue whatsoever was unheard of.
My OB wanted to see me if I developed any symptoms of mastitis. I asked if she would just call in a prescription and she said that some women have to be admitted for IV antibiotics. Not to scare you, but I would see if the hospital where you delivered could see you today. Sorry you're going through this
It will. And it's okay to be in tears. Mastitis almost broke me, and I wasnt dealing with the rest. Please take some time to rest. Aside from feeding a little one you should only be resting.
Starry, I have mastitis right now, too. Ugh, it sucks but after 1 day of meds my fever is gone, no more red streaks or acute pain. I'm still a little tender but worlds better than I was. The relief should come shortly!
Hang in there - I had mastitis at 2 weeks pp with DS and a breast cellulitis at 1 week pp with DD. The first month is brutal. It is so unfair - recovering physically, mentally, hormones, lack of sleep, breastfeeding problems, anxieties of first time moms, and what you've been going through on top of everything. Hang in there, it will get better. Take it day by day or hour by hour.
Glad you got the meds! The thing with my cousin was so crazy, but she basically went into septic shock, so I'm totally freaked out now at any sign of a clogged duct. Feel better soon and definitely nurse as much as possible.
I hope you feel better soon. I had a horrible time breastfeeding at first, plus mastitis at 2 weeks pp, and then I had a bad allergic reaction to the antibiotics for the mastitis, so I was a wreck for the first several weeks. I can't even imagine having all of the other stuff on top of that. Cry and vent and do whatever you need to do to get through this.

I did a lot of hot showers with the shower massager over the sore area when I had mastitis in addition to the compresses, advil, and pumping as much as I could. Good luck mama!

Mastitis is terrible. I'm glad you got meds. I'm going to repeat the advice of getting yourself a probiotic supplement. My Ped/LC practice also recommended coconut oil on your nipples after feeding to help ward off thrush since you are on the antibiotic. Hang in there!!!
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I had mastitis several times and it sucked, but you do get through it and the good news is that the meds kick in fast. Stick with it, you are doing great!
