I get in this mindset while I'm ttc that I'm going to get pregnant and fat, so I totally eat whatever I want all the time. It happened while I ttc last time, and it's happening again. Now that I'm entering cycle number 5 of being a piggy, it's totally catching up to me. All my pants are getting too tight. :-(
So, I got my period this morning and decided I can't do this cow thing for another month. I signed up for weight watchers. I've done the program successfully in the past, so hopefully I can stick to it and get my habits on track.
I'm always trying to lose weight...I go thru spurts of being great at working out and then not-so-great. Ugh!
I have not tried WWs...do you like it? I think my issue is that I don't eat 3 good meals a day (i'll skip bfast or lunch) & I definitely do not work out enough. I'd like to drop 20 lbs before getting knocked up. Since we're on cycle 23478234 I could probably lose more than that.

I'm pretty much always struggling with my weight and it has been an ongoing goal for me to lose. I have been tracking calories via MyFitnessPal for most of the year but I seem to lose and regain the same 7-8 pounds. It's so frustrating!
I really don't want to be the fat girl who gets pg and then gets even fatter - I want to enjoy my pregnancy (if I ever get there) and not be so focused on just how much fatter I'm getting. I have an unhealthy relationship with food and weight and poor body image as a result.
Maybe we can do a weekly weight-loss/fitness check in on this board to help keep us all motivated while TTC. My normal weigh in day is Wednesday but I can be flexible.

You're one step ahead of me on fitness, because I hate hate hate working out. Definitely a flaw, and something I need to work on.
I have loved ww! I love that it makes me feel like nothing is off limits. I can have a splurge and just make sure to count the points. And it also makes me think about what I'm choosing to eat. I can have a hard boiled egg, toast and some fruit for less points than one single donut. I am more likely to skip out on drinking a soda (I freaking love soda) because it costs me 4 or 5 points, and I can eat something tasty for those points, you know?

I hear ya! I have also always had terrible food habits. It is hard to break them!
I'm totally up for a weekly check in! (as long as I'm not in charge, lol)
I like using the app MyFitnessPal too. You can log your food & workouts on it. It actually told me that I was not eating enough calories on days I worked out (that slows your metabolism).

Before I got pg with DD, I was 140-150 - right at the top end of 'healthy' for my height. When I delivered DD I was 220. Seriously. I ate whatever I felt like when I was pg and didn't workout other than a walk around my office building every so often.
Around DD's 1st birthday (well, a few months later) I decided I really needed to work on losing weight. I got down to 185 just through childbirth/breastfeeding but that was as far as I got. I started watching calories and walking for 30 min 3 times a week and got down to 175 - 170. I decided to up the exercise to running 45 - 55 min 3 times a week and am down to 160 now. I still have 10 - 20 more lbs to go.
We are TTC, and I kind of figure I'll just keep doing what I'm doing until I get that BFP. At that point, I'll talk diet/nutrition with the Dr. Plus, I figure this time around I know how hard it is to lose the weight afterwards and will be more conscious of what I eat.
Me! I really need to lose weight in general, but I really want to lower my BMI so that I qualify for my RE's guarnteed success IVF program. I have days where I do really well, but than I fall off the wagon and have such a hard time getting back to eating healthy and working out. I am karaornot on MFP.
I have about 20lb I want to lose. I lost 10 and then sort of slacked off. I am going to really try to get back to the gym this week and back to eating better too. I say this while drinking a coke and eating sour patch kids. lol
I'm trying to lose weight, but I'm trying not to be obsessive about it. I'd like to lose about 20 pounds. I've managed to lose it (and regain it) a few times before, and I've recently come to the realization that I went through some SERIOUS obsessive behaviors when trying to lose weight (compulsive exercise, obsessive calorie counting, etc), and I'm trying to avoid that now.
I've done WW online, which works really well. I'm also a HUGE fan of the Fitbit (www.fitbit.com) -- a little gizmo that clips to your clothes that measures your movement and tells you how many calories you burn doing day-to-day activities. Then you log your food on their website. Calories out > calories in, and hey presto! Weight loss. It's really helped me to incorporate non-excercise-related activity into my day (like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or going for walks with my husband).

Yes, I'm in the 'always trying to lose weight' camp too...
I'd like to lose another 20 lbs (have lost 28 in the last few years) but I have a really fat face so I feel like I'm just going to be a complete balloon when KU.
I eat pretty low carb and when I'm being good I lose weight really well doing this. My biggest problem is that I love bread and booze and my will power is low on the weekends
I'm another one in the always need to lose weight camp. I need to watch myself though as I can get obsessed over it easily, which isn't happy and healthy either. My main goal would be to actually exercise more.

Well it sounds like there are a bunch of us in the same camp so let's do a Wed food/exercise check in - whether you want to lose weight, tone up, just continue what you're doing, whatever, it will be an opportunity to be accountable to each other.

I'd participate since you extended it to people who are maintaining! I love recipe and healthy living ideas. :-) Even tho I also love ice cream...
