We are going to LV in February for my birthday. We haven't been out there for 6 years, but I pulled up my Harrah's reward info (we gamble in Louisiana) and we can stay all nights for free at -Harrah's -Imperial Palace (not an option for me) -Flamingo (up to cat. mini suite...I have stayed here before) -Planet Hollywood (lower cat. room) -Rio (would rather not, we've been here before) -Bally's -Caesar's (lower cat. room) -Paris (lower cat. room)
So what would you pick? We will fly in Tuesday and leave on Sunday. We stay free during the week and weekends at those noted above in higher categories other than PH, Caesars, Paris or we can get upgraded rooms at Caesar's & Paris free during the week if we pay for discounted weekend nights, otherwise just standard rooms. I feel out of the loop since it has been quite a few years since we were there and not sure if any of the hotels and rooms are kind of "tired" and in need of reno. Any advice?
I'd book the CP room (I am assuming your "lower category is the basic Roman Tower) and cross your fingers and/or slip them a $20 at check in. Hopefully you get upgraded to the Palace or Forum tower - or something even better! I would say checking in on a Tuesday would give you a pretty good chance, unless it's a holiday week or something. I really like CP, even though it's massively huge.
Otherwise, I guess I would go PH (and again hope for a better room than the Hollywood Hip).
IP, Flamingo, Harrah's would not be an option for me, and one would think that the basic rooms at Paris would be nice, but they aren't. That is just my Vegas hotel snob opinion
I've stayed in a regular room at Paris and I thought it was nice. The bathrooms are all marble and has a big tub. They do have a reputation for bed bugs though, so I don't think I would stay there again.
I would probably choose the Flamingo or Caesars give the other options. I like to stay at a different hotel each time, but the Flamingo's rooms have been renovated since you were there last.
I love the location of Paris which is why we stay there whenever we go to Vegas. The rooms are pretty basic but I always get a good deal & really, we don't spend much time in the room anyways.
