I think the new guidelines are to introduce before one year since there is no evidence which supports a one year introduction. I at nonstop peanutbutter while kissing/holding DS since he was a newborn. I was pretty sure he was fine. I gave him his first taste at 6 months and he had no reaction. I was more worried about it being too sticky for him to eat properly. At 10.5 months I started giving him peanutbutter toast and he loves it.

We tried to give it to them around a year, but neither would touch it. I was afraid they knew something but couldn't tell me, so I didn't push it. Around 18m, I gave them PBJ sandwiches, and they gobbled them up, and we had no problems. They've been having PBJs every weekend since then.

The old school rule was no peanut butter until age 2. But (as I mentioned in the egg post), I believe that all the rules about delaying the introduction of allergens are changing.
DD was allergic to dairy, so we were more cautious about introducing foods that kids are frequently allergic to. But I'm fairly certain we introduced peanut butter some time around 18 months.
You are probably okay at this point, barring any family history, to give LO peanut butter. My OB did say to make sure we spread it really thin as PB can also be a choking hazard. Putting it on crackers rather than bread right away might help until she becomes accustomed to the texture.
Our pedi advised 12mos, more because of choking concerns rather than allergy concerns.
I still haven't given pb to her (she's 20m now), but only because it's not something I usually keep stocked in the pantry. She's had various other chopped nuts though, and I've used peanut oil for cooking, so I'm guessing she'll be fine with pb.
I was paranoid, so I waited until he was 12mo old. I also gave him the PB&J sandwich at the pedi's office ;D. The doctor said I wasn't the first one to do that, lol.
Our pedi said we could try it at 12 months, but to be careful and just give a thin amount on toast because of choking. I am scared, so we haven't done it yet.
N had a contact reaction at 9 months, so we avoided until 1 when the allergy was confirmed with an allergist. We never gave E any because we have kept a peanut free household since N had his reaction.
ETA: We have no family history of any kind of food allergy on either side, so we were surprised!
I have a parent allergic to shellfish and a cousin allergic to peanuts and treenuts. DD got both by 10 months and DS by 9mo (DD fed him her PB sandwich). Once we started solids at 6mo, just about everything was free game. I also ate tons of shellfish, peanuts, treenuts, eggs, etc during pregnancy and BF'ing.
I have a co-worker whose son has a peanut allergy and he said before you have them eat it, put a little on their arm to see if they have a reaction. He said the first time his son had peanut butter he started vomiting and then everywhere the vomit touched his skin he had a rash so he was puking, crying and breaking out into a rash. MIL thought we were crazy but we put peanut butter on her arm for a couple minutes and then when there was no reaction we gave her peanut butter a few days later. She was over 1 at the time.

We waited and then some day when DS was 13 or 14 months old he had a PB sandwich at daycare and broke out in a bad rash almost immediately . We weren't aware of anyone in our family with a nut allergy but apparently he has it. He may also be allergic to some other things we don't know yet because he gets eczema on a regular basis and we haven't figured out what caused it yet.
