Found a cat- what to feed?

I found a super skinny kitty in the ditch - what should I feed him? He has diarrhea right now. He is drinking water and has ate a little but I'm not sure he should eat my current cats' food California Natural chicken and rice it may be too rich?

He is just the sweetest thing, he purrs and kneads constantly, during his bath, while he eats. Just so sweet, if he wasn't so skinny and beat up I would think he was a pet. But I couldn't leave him out in the ditch looking like this. And he is white with a little light orange on his head and he has odd eyes, one blue and one brown!

Aww poor guy Keep him separated from your cats until you can get him checked out, he may have worms or a disease. Even though he looks beat up, he could still be a lost pet so I would still take him to be checked for a microchip, and check the lost & found ads and post one too.

You could try feeding just plain cooked chicken, and a little bit of cooked rice - and plenty of fresh water.

Aww. Thank you for taking him in!

Canned pumpkin may help with the diarrhea. Just a small amount--like a tablespoon per day. Make sure it's the kind that is plain pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling. GL!

I bought some pumpkin today for him. And some kitten food.

And we're probably going to keep him. It's a little hard to explain, but where we live and where I found him, he isn't lost or a pet. But he is ours now, I named him Gus. I put the kennel up and he is staying in there til he learns how to use the litter box and til I get him checked out to make sure he's healthy. And to keep him away from my other cats. He is sleeping on me right now though, I gave him another bath because he had fleas and I cleaned his ears out.
