I have twins that are almost 6 months old. They were almost 2 months premature, so we are waiting until their 6 month birthday to introduce solids and start weaning them.
I'm not sure how to start the weaning process. I dont want to quit cold turkey. Do I just replace a BF session with a bottle? Which one?
If it matters at all, I have had lots of issues with clogged ducts over the past 6 months. If the boys go more than 6 hours without eating (night), my boobs get rock hard and hurt.
I had the same problem as you with clogged ducts. I also had 3 bouts of mastitis. I slowly replaced one pump/bf session with a bottle and took about 2 weeks to wean completely. Every few days I'd try to cut out another session and replace it with a bottle. I used cold/frozen cabbage leaves to deal with engorgement.
Great job with the bf'ing! I'm sure bf'ing twins fr 6 months wasn't easy, that's a huge accomplishment.
