Today is my friend's birthday. She has a fiance and they have a tumultuous relationship. I spoke to her a few days ago and she said she would be happy with a card from him.
I talked to her this morning. They were supposed to go out Saturday night to celebrate. He came home and gave her a card and a plant. She was not happy with the card. She said it was not romantic and was just generic and he wrote 4 words in it. She thought the plant was unromantic too.
So she called him out on it, basically asking if the plant was her only gift. He got pissed and told her she ruins everything and that he wanted to smash the plant against the wall. And that it wasn't even her birthday yet so how does she know that's all she is getting.
I told her next time, pick out her own card and just tell him to buy it.
he wanted to smash the plant against the wall. This sounds like a completely appropriate response. They are such a lovely couple!
Ehhh I can sort of understand this. You try to do something nice for someone and they shit all over it. I'd be pretty pissed too.
I'd be pretty pissed to but my response would have been something like, then I'm not getting you anything else or if its so ugly give it away but dude seems to be violent.

I tend to say violent things when angry. It's just my way of expressing anger. But I don't ever actually act on the violence.
Hopefully they wise up and go their separate ways before getting married. Otherwise, I predict a divorce. I mean she sounds bitchy, but him wanting to smash the plant against the wall wasn't cool.
