I don't feel like reading reviews on amazon right now. It's hard to try and filter out the stupid ones. So I'm asking here.
I've only taken her temp rectally so far since her pedi said that's the most accurate way for a newborn. I forgot to ask him for a thermometer rec at her 9 month appt. She's never going to sit still for a rectal again. I don't need to take her temp right now but someday I will and I want to be prepared with a good ear or forehead thermometer when I do. What works for you?

I use the thermometer that the hospital gave us in her arm pit. (+1 degree)
We tried the thermometer that you run across the forehead and never got accurate results, so we returned it. We also have the Braun ear thermometer which is supposed to be awesome... but again, we always get mixed temps. The armpit works best for us.
Chelsea you just hold her arm down over it and then add a degree? I asked her pedi at our prenatal meeting and he mentioned the ear ones are tough to get a good seal. They use a forehead one at their office but I bet I can't afford the one they use.
Maybe I'll try out the one we have on her armpit every day for a few days in a row just to see if its consistent for me that way before I go buy a fancy one.
I have both the temporal and armpit thermometer. I like the temporal one. So much easier. And I seem to get the same results with both.
Which temporal one do you like? My monkey had her very first fever last night . I feel like I jinxed her. She's not sick. No runny nose, no cough, hasn't touched her ears once. But she's getting 4 teeth breaking through on top. Holding her still for a rectal takes 2 people. I'm going to pick up a temporal today.
I have one where you can switch the tips depending on which location you want to take the temperature (rectal, armpit, mouth & ear maybe?). I'm not sure who makes it off the top of my head, but so far so good. The armpit tip works consistently good on me.
