I'm heading back to the States soon for a visit and I'll be gone about 6 weeks. My flight from Germany leaves at 10 am and it'll take me 2 hours to get the airport, not to mention I have to be there 2 hours early since it's international. DH had to go ahead of me for work related reasons, so it's just me.
I looked on the airport's website and found out I can leave my car there for 6 weeks for 65 euro, which is about how much we'd end up paying for taxis/train tickets/bus fare etc. Plus we're going to be returning with a lot of heavy stuff which will be a big pain dragging home on the train.
The airport option seems great, but I've never left my car for that long. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or am I just overthinking it and should go for it?

Sixty-five euro for six weeks sounds almost too good to be true! What kind of facility is it? Your car will sit in their lot, or at your place. Frankly, I think I'd prefer the convenience of having it at the airport.

Good point! It's the Holiday Parking lot, or the "Remote" parking lot. It's remote in the sense that you can't take an elevator up into the terminal, but you can see Terminal 1 from it. Not too shabby!
You get a discount for reserving a spot online, and once you're there you have to check in with the Parking Office for a new ticket. A bit annoying, but worth the 49% discount.

OMG I'd totally do that for the convenience. We've only left our car in a long term park for a weekend, but it was so great to have it there when we got back. Only thing I'd consider is is it outdoors? could you car get potentially damaged by weather being outside that long?
