L and I got engaged over the weekend
Those of you who are my Facebook friends already know from my post today. Sorry it took me so long to post here (damn work! lol).
It happened Saturday night. We went to Disney on Ice with his DD and afterwards we went to his place and he started making me dinner. I asked if I could help, and he said "no, no, just relax". He made mussels with noodles and veggies. When he brought me my plate, I started eating the mussels, and they had gotten cold already. I said I was going to nuke them really quick to heat them back up and he was like "No! Don't put them in the microwave, I need to put them back in the steamer". So a few minutes later, he brought them back and I resumed eating them. I was eating all around the one that eventually, I discovered contained the ring. I saw it and I was totally surprised. He got down on one knee and asked me to do him the honour of being his wife. Of course, I said yes! The next day was my dad's birthday, so we got to tell my close family in person. He told his family over the phone. Both sides were very happy for us.
A little backstory- I thought it was going to happen last weekend on my birthday, so the next day I was a little depressed that it didn't happen. But I understand that he wanted to surprise me, not do it when I was "expecting" it.
No dates or plans set yet, but I'm not planning for a long engagement

"Everything happens for a reason, people change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they're right, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can come together." ~Marilyn Monroe
