Does anyone else get this? We've been back from Hawaii for a week and I'm just feeling so blah. We're going to Vegas for Halloween so my next trip is definitely within sight and I'm excited for it, I just wish it were sooner. :-(
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
Yes, I do too. I think it along the same lines as post-wedding blues. You plan for and look forward too something for a long time and then it is just...done.
I do. It was AWFUL after our HM to Hawaii last year because two big events were over--our wedding and our trip. Both things I had been planning and looking forward to for months. For me, it's more the letdown of "Now what do I have to look forward to?" So if I can plan something else, even if it's not a trip, it helps.
Like this year, two days after we got back from California, we closed on our house. So while I hated seeing the trip end, we had this other huge thing to be excited for, so it helped.
Even if I am not seriously planning a trip, I do like to start looking into future trips, hotels, and what not and it also helps.
All the time...it's why I'm now booked three trips out...
I find that I'm already thinking about the next trip by the time we're on the plane to come home. It really helps me to have something to look forward to and research.
Suffering now. And the worst part is that I went in the negatives (only 2 hours) for Ireland last week; so most likely we won't do another big trip until 2014.
I'm trying to busy myself now with printing pics from our trips this year to do a wall frame collage and also work on our holiday cards. It helps to have something else to do; but it's not as exciting as looking forward to a trip
I also have it every single time and it lasts for a long time too. We have gone on a short one beginning of Sept. and are so broke that there's no new one in sight. I keep fantasizing about Sicily, Norway, Vienna, Barcelona, Andalusia, and Greek Islands.

Definitely! Like pp's mentioned after the wedding and honeymoon it was the worst because 2 of the biggest events of our life that we had been planning for and looking forward to for a year and a half were all of sudden gone and passed. Luckily I got a new job 2 months later that moved us from CT to FL so that was super exciting.
But we usually try to have another trip booked or something in the works so we have something to look forward to after we get back from a trip. We always have something else booked or in the back of our head of what we want to do next.
Also, sometimes for me the fun part is putting together a scrapbook of the trip when we return which takes some time to work on. We also collect magnets and picture frames of destinations we go to, and I like organizing our new collectibles and other various souveniers.
