I'm totally clueless when it comes to Seattle. I actually live a little farther south so I need your advice/opinions.
I have a friend looking for a place to stay but she wants to know what parts of Seattle to avoid and what areas may be cool for her to float around in.
Things to consider:
Interesting nightlife Fun activities for during the day
I'd say just stay downtown. There are a ton of great hotels. I really like the Grand Hyatt - really close to all of the downtown shopping, walkable to Pike Place, etc. There are a ton of options though.
Just downtown? Is there a neighborhood name (Fremont, Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, Magnolia, etc).
That's a real question
I also agree with downtown.
I've lived in Seattle since '99 and I STILL don't know where all the neighborhoods are. As far as I know, downtown is just...downtown. Like 5th avenue, that area. I could be wrong. Sorry I wasn't much help with that question.
I too, like the Grand Hyatt. I think I've stayed there 2-3 times. I like the location relative to the link train if you need to get to Pioneer Square (or areas south) and it's walking distance to the market, belltown and pretty much in the thick of the shopping.
