Hi all. I need some help. My 5 year old dd has become afraid of everything since dh deployed. She doesn't want to sleep in her own room, she's afraid of the bathroom first thing in the morning and she started crying while on the pony ride at the fair yesterday. Dh has deployed before but she was too young to remember. All of these issues cropped up after he left. Any suggestions on how I can help her?
Have you talked to her pediatrician? I'd be looking for a child psychologist under those circumstances, though as the child of two I'm a bit trigger-happy when it comes to therapy.

Has she said what scares her at night or in the bathroom? I agree it's probably the change by see what she says. Maybe there's something you can do to help her adapt ( aside from the therapy thing). Ask her what you can do.
