A new girl started at work a month or two ago. I never see her talking to anyone, and there is no one near her age in her department.
I sat next to her at a company event a week ago and chit-chatted a bit. She was super nice.
I just invited her to join some of us for lunch today. I was so nervous about asking her, and am so anxious to get a reply. I hate being the 'new girl' and thought it would be nice to include her.
Why do I feel so nervous??? Anyone else get nervous over stupid stuff?
That was really nice of you. Hopefully she'll accept, but if she declines, don't take it personally. She might be shy and just as nervous as you. I don't know why you're nervous though!
I also get nervous talking to new people. I make it a point to include others in stuff (since I was left out a LOT as a kid and it really hurt), but I still feel weird about actually approaching someone.
