Ok, please help me think this through.
My niece is being born end of Nov/early Dec. (due date is Nov 26 but SIL is measuring quite a bit ahead)
I wasn't going to book my airfare to go visit until the time came. Well, Southwest is having a big sale right now and my flight is severely discounted - as in, I have not seen a flight this low since I don't know when. So, I'm going to buy my flight and figure I can always cancel and get the credit if I need to.
For the sale, can fly Nov 28 - Dec 12.
I have to be at work on Dec 10, no way around it. Sort of need to be here Dec 1 but maybe can get out of it. But, since it's a Sat, if I work I earn a comp day, which I can use instead of vacation (which is precious...I am hoarding days)
So I was thinking of flying in the night of Dec 3 (Monday) and coming home Dec 8 (Saturday) It would give me all day Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri. DH would be flying in Wed night and leaving with me on Saturday.
During this time I would obviously be seeing my brother, SIL and niece but also my parents and maybe some friends depending on everyone's schedules.
Now I'm thinking this is too much. If I go up Wed and only have Thurs & Fri full days is that enough? Maybe I should go Tues night and have Wed, Thurs and Fri full days?
Ugh. I want to have enough time, but also know brother & SIL won't want me hanging around 24/7 (which isn't my plan....I figure I will basically be with my parents since I have to use their car and everything so we would spend some time with brother and SIL but the rest with my parents).
Does this even make sense?
Sorry, I am super crazy and emotional today and my mind is rambling. Maybe I am pregnant? (haha)
BTW, if anyone wants to travel Nov 28 - Dec 12, check out Southwest's sale!

Mon - Sat sounds like a good plan! Like you said, they will be tired w the new baby and all, so that'll give you time to visit multiple times spread throughout the week so you're not camped out in their family room for a solid 24 hrs lol. Then visit other family & friends in your spare time!
I'd let it depend on if you're for sure visiting for the baptism as well. If you're trying to hoard your vacation days going Weds-Sat together with YH will save you 2 days of taking up vacation. If you know you'll see them again 3 weeks later, that might not be too bad. If you're not going to the baptism, I'd do Mon-Sat as it'll likely be quite a while before you see them again.
