Books … and a baby! “Homeschool at its best,” Natalie Hanson Tweeted Tuesday, sharing a photo of eldest child Ezra, 10 this month, working on an exercise while cuddling with new sister Wilhelmina Jane. Born last Tuesday, the baby girl is the fifth child for Taylor Hanson and his wife. “She was welcomed by more love than could fit in the room,” the musician, 29, told PEOPLE.
In addition to Ezra and Wilhelmina, Taylor and Natalie, 28, are parents to Penelope, 7, River, 6, and Viggo, 3½. “I never saw myself having this big family at a young age,” Taylor tells PEOPLE. “But I can’t imagine anything else now. It’s just the greatest.”
Eh, the homeschool and big family doesn't surprise me. I was a HUUUUUUGE Hanson fan back in the day, and they come from a big, religious family where they were all homeschooled. That's how they had time for their music.
I remember being heartbroken that he got married at like 18. :-(

lol. Yep. She was pregnant
Eat: and I'm pretty sure he met her at the concert that I attended, which is bizarre.

Well, wouldn't be bad with enough money for a housekeeper & big house. At 28 she's sure to have decent energy at least. DD1 is named Wilhelmina so now she's not the only one under 50 with that name anymore
Eh, if I were very wealthy, I'd be much more likely to have a lot of kids at a young age. They don't have to worry about daycare and bills and all that jazz. That makes life much easier.

A girl I graduated with has 5 already (we're 25). She got married at 19 and started popping them out. There's a crazy religion in my hometown though where the average # of kids has to be 8-9. A guy I graduated with was the youngest of 22, all from the same mom and dad.
Are they really wealthy though? Mmmm Bop was a big hit and all but not sure how it's sustaining all the brothers and their increasingly large families.

I am also questioning how rich the Hansons actually are. They were really young when they were big...young enough to have taken a crap deal from their label...and were also not that big for very long.
I mean...apparently they have enough $ for 5 kids, but the MMer in me would love to see their finances.

This thread makes me feel very old. I'm pretty sure I was in college when Mmmmm Bop came out. I remember one of our male acapella bands mocking the song!
I'm also on the "how rich could they really be?" band wagon. ( or is it bandwagon?)

Lurker and Hanson fan here...
They are actually very wealthy.
They created their own record label after their 3rd album. Their parents kept all of their money and then gave them each chunks when they turned 18. They then turned around to create their own indie label. They produce their own stuff and the stuff of other indie bands. They had several big hits and were huge in Europe and Asia.
With the help of their family they made some very smart business decisions.
I'd forgotten how many closeted Hanson fans we have here. Are they still touring? We should have a gtg and make sure Balki comes.
Lol. IIRC, I've heard that they'll be on tour again next year.
I've never seen Hanson in concert. :-( My parents thought an hour was too far to drive. Now I'd probably have to go by myself; I can't see SO agreeing to go see them.
