We took flykid to have his pictures taken at a local studio. Some of the pictures we ordered were part of a package deal (i.e. get 8x10, 2 5x7s and 2 4x6s for one price). Well, when the girl taking our order entered it in the computer, she typed 11 instead of 1 for one of the pictures we ordered (4x6s). I never noticed it was wrong on the invoice. H picked up the portraits yesterday and I couldn't figure out why we had so many. He said we should offer to call and pay for part of it. I don't think we should have to pay for them--since I don't really want/need 11 of the same pic. The only thing that is going to happen IMO is that we'll be mad if we have to pay for pics I didn't order and they'll be mad if I say I'm not paying for them. The person packaging the order could have taken them out if they realized it was wrong and they'll likely just destroy them anyway if we send them back right? I'm not trying to be shady-so what say you MM?
I say you're fine. It's their mistake and it's not like they accidentally gave you 11 toasters, you know? It's 11 pictures of your kid. They can't make money off of them.
They don't want the pictures back and would probably just tell you to keep them if you tried to return them. Nothing they can do. So I say just keep them. and enjoy.
You can call if you want to return them, but I am sure they would say keep them. They have no use for them and will trash them anyway. No way I would pay for something I did not order and don't want or need.
I have had photo places make extra prints by accident and they just let me have them anyway. Once they were a little blurry and they reprinted the photos at my request but told me to go ahead and keep both.
