I'm on the hunt for coordinating clothes for family pictures. I want us to look a little dressy, but not like we came straight from Christmas mass. I'm trying to find things that are solid colors because I've read that's better than patterns for photos.
I have a dark purple sweater dress I think I'll wear.
I'm thinking this for DS:
I'm not sure what pants to pair with it. I'm thinking dark jeans, but am worried that might be *too* casual. Other ideas?
The second one also comes in cream, which I like better than red, but I think if DS and I are in dark colors, the red would be better. Do you like either of them or have you seen anything else lately that might fit the bill?
If the three of us are all in some kind of sweater, do you think DH needs to wear one too? He is not a sweater kind of guy at all. He'd look much more like himself in a button up shirt and a pair of khakis. Which do you think would be better?

I'd put DS in khakis with that sweater and your H in khakis and a button up. or both of them in jeans. Maybe jeans with a lighter gray button up? Or plain white button up? I don't think you want to introduce many more colors (but I like what you have!)
We are doing family photos around Thanksgiving, so I have been looking for outfits as well. Ours are with my extended family, and we were instructed to wear "earth tones". Below is what I have finally found for the family (DD is wearing the sweater dress you posted, in cream):
I spent a lot of time looking online for things, I understand how frustrating it can be. My biggest comlaint about all of the online idea boards, is that none of them have links!
Diva- Cute outfits! What site did you use to save the outfits together?
Thanks! I actually didn't use a website to save the outfits together, just took screen shots, cropped them, and put them in a powerpoint slide. Then I saved the slide as a jpeg. I also hyperlinked each image to the website where I found it, so as I could try different combos and see what I liked. Once I had a set of outfits I liked, it was very easy to follow the hyperlinks and order everything.
