There are lots of beautiful hot sunny days in Florida and I love living here with the blue skies and Gulf breezes. But there is no day like today. Blue, breezy and no humidity in the air at all. Days like today make me think I can run a marathon with no training. They also make me homesick for NY. My homies get a good week or 2 of this weather, plus the sights and smells of the changing leaves. But today, here, I'll take it. We're going swinging

Oh my god. Must get outside. This recovery is killing me. I did take Sam and lucky out last night. It was more of a show and tell though w my half normal half nutjob neighbors. Ok after Samantha eats I'm going outside.
I'm pretty much not a fan of FL weather ever, and after being in VT from Fri-Mon, I remember why. It was so absolutely gorgeous up there, chilly but not freezing, really amazing. Then I come back to this heat and humidity. Sigh. At least we won't have to shovel, right?
Kim isn't it absolutely gorgeous up there right now? Gah! We were up for my friends wedding Oct 1 last fall when I was 6 months pregnant and it felt so good to be out of the heat. But then for the last couple days of our stay it got cold and my toes were numb and I remembered how horrible the winter can be, and especially the spring. Moon, I was recovering last year during the week or 2 of cool weather at New Years and it was killing me to be inside. Ok I'm really going out to enjoy a bit now, the hour of time suck just spent on the phone with mom has ended. She got another call, praise God;)

Lol about the neighbors! I've stood outside and played show and tell with mine lots just to get a bit of fresh air. Last night as a matter of fact. (The nice friendly neighbors across the street, not the nut job next door share a fence neighbors).

I HATE this weather. Mainly because I know its only going to get colder. Hate it! I'm not looking forward to lugging the baby + all his baby things from the house to the car in the snow. Can we trade?
It's still too hot and humid for me. There were a couple of times today where I felt a nice breeze, but this humidity has got to go. I don't think I was built to live here. Pregnant or not, I am ALWAYS hot.
Jen, the weather in MA is so much colder and gloomier than even NJ. I noticed that the last couple of times I was there. You guys get some harsh winters!

LOL, I think about this a lot. There are so many days when it is just hard to get out of the house with a child, I can't even imagine adding winter on top of it. That's a whole extra set of crap you have to buy every year that will only fit for a year, too.
Maybe it's because I lived in a place where winter is real winter for 6 months of the year, but I would never choose crappy winter over crappy summer.

We are going to NY in Feb with the baby. It is Winter Carnival in my town and I go every year. Way more fun than Christmas. Every body goes home and usually we go to the bars and get hammered, but now we are all old with kids so we will do the other events they have-sledding, snowmen, all that. I'm looking for winter clothes right now and have answered a few ads from Craig's List for girl winter clothes and these moms are texting me pics. Here's one. Not exactly what I was thinking of by "winter".

I might have a few outfits that she can have. I am really trying to minimize all of our stuff that we have, so I want to get rid of a lot of our baby stuff (esp. since I'm mostly sure there will be no further babies.)
I was in Omaha last week and it was so nice to see changing leaves and feel temps in the 50s-60s. It just felt like I was in a real place instead of gross Florida. (sorry!) Lately I've seen clear blue skies here which is pretty, but it's still way too hot. Can't wait till at least November when it should cool down just a little bit, hopefully.

I've started walking Beckett to preschool some mornings with the mom of one of his classmates who lives right by me, and it was so delightful this morning! It felt like Fall! Too bad it's already warmed up.
