For me personally, I am not into casual dating or fwb. If I am interested in the guy, I will date 2-3 times to get a better idea of who the person and move on if there is no long term potential.
I tried to date casually in the past and it was anything but that so I don’t anymore.

i define casual dating as seeing each other maybe once a week, maybe. depending on availability. being free to see other people and not feeling guilty about it. no obligation to talk or text each other if you don't want to. definitely no 'i miss you' or 'where were you last night' text messages. no expectations from each other besides being a decent human being. if you make plans, you keep them.
i think when i start dating another guy, i need to make sure we are on the same page.
so how do you define casual dating? i know for everyone it's different, i'm just curious.
I usually don't have time/energy for casual dating. I don't have a problem with it, per se, but I am pretty black and white on whether I like someone or not. If I like someone I usually want to see if it can develop into something. If I don't, then I generally find that out pretty quickly.
But I think they way you defined casual dating is the way I would. Except you didn't spell out the sex part so I'm not sure where your thoughts are on that.
I think I define it the same way you do although I'm not into casually dating. Like Achase, if I'm into someone, I want to see if it will develop, if I'm not, I don't bother continuing to date them.
If I were into casually dating I certainly wouldn't sleep with the guy.
