The picture is already gone so I can't comment, but I have a FB friend that has multiple pictures of her son buck naked on her page. I think it's so odd, as do many people who have posted something about them not belonging on the internet. She keeps saying "I married a French man, and the French aren't so prudish"
Lol Aegis! People are strange. I have a French woman in my neighborhood and she's surprisingly very prudish. She asks me about nursing all the time, but in a weird way like "are you still...you know...doing...that...?" Like it's fascinating but uncomfortable for her. It's weird. Aren't Europeans supposed to be more open minded?
I'm ok with naked babies but that wasn't a baby. This girl should really try and be objective and look at the set up of that pic, and come to realize that her baby is not a baby anymore and needs to be dressed appropriately. I know her intentions were probably in the right place, and the costume is super cute, but the way he's posed makes me think I would never call that person about the costume bc it might be a front for child slave trade. Lol.
This was a little boy (7? I'm bad with ages) with a crocheted scarecrow costume. Hat, legwarmers, and a jock strap type thing around his waist. Should have been wearing clothes under it. And he was sitting on a fence but straddling it, and he kind of had a sad expression.
Chelsea if that is too much description I'll delete it.

A little off subject... I received this random gift at my baby shower from my mom's friend. It's a book called Brining Up Bebe. On the cover it says one American mother discovers the wisdom of French parenting.
Has anyone heard of this book? I hadn't. This was the only gift from my mom's BFF, so I thought she felt it must be an important read.
Basically, the author states that when a French woman becomes a mom, that role does not consume her. It's just a piece of who she is. After giving birth, the French woman is eager to regain her sexuality. The breast is seen as a sexual object, rather than a utilitarian tool.
They also view breast feeding as something a poor mother would do because she couldn't afford formula. She mentions something about wet nurses. The author was given the side eye when wanting to stop by her baby's day care to nurse.
Anywho, I don't really recommend this book, but thought I'd throw that out there.
Jen that's very interesting. This woman is old, I actually forget her age but the first # is 8. She's very spry for being in her 80's. She was outside with her edger this afternoon, and then the push mower. She's very concerned with the appearance of her home. She is always made up, even when she picks up the newspaper from the curb in her robe. She is very kind to us but she has asked me when we plan on landscaping which didn't sit well with me but she hasn't asked again. And the nursing, oh my, she asks me every time. And she mentions that she used formula. And no matter how many times I tell her that I don't have to wake A up to eat every 3 hours so she doesn't starve to death, she tells me that she just couldn't have done that with her kids. I would be interested in reading the book but not enough that I ever will, so thanks for sharing.

It does sound interesting. Sara, maybe it could give you some insight to this neighbors frame of mind. lol Speaking of people needing to landscape. I am pushing to get on our fining committee. I moved into a gated community for a reason, these renters are starting to piss me off. Also, I am pretty sure the neighbors across the street had their crack dealer looking for them a few days ago. At least he looked like a crack dealer. He kept circling the neighborhood, slowing down at their house in several brand new, VERY nice cars. They are now pulling into their garage to park (w/ no electric garage door opener). They have been there about 6 months and have never parked in the garage.
My house definately needs landscaping. And grass. And to be painted. But in 3 years ago it was a foreclosure and since then we did all the electrical. The roof. New Trane AC unit. New bathroom. All new floors. And we made a person. We could have bought a landscaped home in a HOA division for much less than we've put into ours, but we liked this street. Curbside appeal is on the to do list. About 40k later and it's pretty much sitting at #1. I just didn't care for the judgy French lady across the road reminding me. Lol. She means well. I wanted to tell her I'm taking donations.
