I worked right up until labor with both kids. In general at my work going out cuts into your FMLA time so you have less time after the baby. We also can't just go out -- there has to be a medical reason. With both pregnancies I planned on using 1 week or sick or vacation if I went over due but that was about it. (Both kids came before my due date).
Yep I was at work on Friday went into labor Saturday night. I was like 5 days overdue. Although I wasn't planning on going to work on Monday since I was bored to tears and sick of people asking me if I was still pregnant.
Yep. I was scheduled up to my due date, although for fewer hours per week for the final month of my pregnancy. I was scheduled to work the day I went into labor and had to call my boss ("I have good news and bad news!" lol) and I had worked the day before.
I think I'm going to work until my due date if the baby doesn't come early. Mentally, I need an end date, and I won't want to deal with annoying CWs after 40w anyway. If I'm off and home alone for a week, that's fine with me.
My water broke two weeks before my due date while I was at work! I was supposed to work a few more days before I was going to start my maternity leave.
Yeah, but I went into labor on a saturday night 2 weeks before my due date. I was planning to work up to it, I just didn't know I already had when I left work on that friday afternoon
I started ML 3 weeks before my due date. In CA, disability can be initiated by your doctor for no other reason than you are 36 weeks pregnant.
I gave birth the day after my due date, and it was seriously awesome to have those weeks at home. I slept in, relaxed, took the dog for long walks, etc.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
My plan was to go on leave three weeks before my due date. The kid decided to make her appearance five weeks early. So yes I did, but it was unintentional.
Brie like you I kind of want an end date. So maybe I'll just work up to my due date which is a Tuesday. I am just using FMLA but then picking up shifts PRN so I can technically have more than 12 weeks off.
I would be surprised if I go early. I am imaginging myself going until 42 weeks and being forced into an induction. Positive thinking, I do not has it, lol.

i worked up until the day before i was induced. dd was due 7/7, my last day at work was 7/13 and she was born the following afternoon.
as long as you're comfortable, i don't see any reason to go out early .. imo i'd rather spend time w/ the baby AFTER i deliver rather than waste 4-5 weeks BEFORE hand.
I was definitely having contractions at work, but it was all back labor, so I wasn't really sure. I worked on Tuesday and had the baby on Wednesday. She was born at exactly 37 weeks, but I planned to work until the end anyway. I only had two months off (part time for month three) and didn't want to waste it before she was born.

Yeah, mine's a Sunday, so I figure Friday will be my last day. I haven't worked out the details with my boss yet, but given my due date and the nature my job it's perfect timing to leave then.
Yes, my son was early (26 weeks) and I was on hospital bed rest at the end but I still worked up until the day he was born. I'm lucky to have a job I can do from anywhere with an internet connection. Regardless, I would have worked up until the day he was born.
It was a week after my due date. Induction scheduled for the next day. The very first day I new benefits at work after a merger that would give me more paid time off. I would have 3 wks paid under old, had 10 with new.
I came into work and clocked in at 7:30am. E was born at 9:32 am. It was a busy 2 hours.
The best was walking into my bosses office at 7:35 or so telling her I didn't feel well. She has three kids. She pretty much had to tell me I was in labor.

Wow! How long did you stay at work?
I have a friend who stayed with a co-worked while the poor woman delivered her baby in the gym in their office building because she stayed at work too long.
