"Clear Title" and buying/selling a house?

We are buying a vacation house. We are suppose to close tomorrow, but yesterday got an email that they cannot get clear title.

This is what the attorney said, "(a) No Legal Description was attached to or recorded with Security Deed at Book 1156 Page 256; however, a legal description was recorded with Modification at Book 1478 Page 42."

It seems like a procedural thing. Anyone ever heard of something like that and know how long it takes to fix. I ask how long, but got no response.

If the house you bought or sold had a title problem, did it take a long time to fix?

Ours is super complicated because the state in which the death certificate is being held (needed to clear the title) is a closed state and they will not release the document. So we are going on 2 months with no answer.

However, my lawyer said that it WOULD have been cleared in a week or two if they could get a hold of the document.
