I would go. We flew with DS when he was 5 wks old. I wore him in the Moby and he pretty much slept on both flights each way. We also took both kids to a conference when DD was 6 wks old. She hung out in the Moby while DS and I went sightseeing and DH worked.

I do think it is easy to fly with a newborn (we flew with DS at 2.5 months, so in Jan). When we talked to the pedi about it he did suggest waiting until after he got his first set of shots (which we did). Dh and I both got sick on both trips we took in January, DS did not though.
I would go. We took my daughter across the country (5 1/2 hour or so flight) when she was 7 weeks old, and returned a week later. She had not had her shots yet, and it was Jan/Feb, so peak germy season. I was just extra careful about washing MY hands, and not touching germy things and then her.
Yes, I would go. We took DS on a 10-hr car ride from VA to upstate NY at 6 weeks. He slept the whole way with only 2 on-demand nursing sessions. Soooo easy.
