I am not judging her weight gain. I could care less. However, we can all admit, she gained on the higher side of the scale.
Is there anybody who thinks that she gained more weight on purpose?. Or when it started to go thay way, she embraced it? Two reasons - it kept her in the headlines. And 2. Now she has a deal with weight watchers. It also makes me curious why her weight watchers commercial only shows her head and not her whole body as she embarks on her weight loss journey. Did she lose a lot of that weight post delivery as water, etc.

I just saw her WW commercial was was wondering why they only showed her head too. She admitted to eating whatever she wanted and didn't try to control her weight gain (and I'm certainly not suggesting she should have). I don't think she did it on purpose. Now she's admitted that it's hard to get rid of it and she's having trouble hitting her goal weight for WW and may not get all her money from them.
But who cares? She's really pretty no matter what her weight and as long as she's healthy it shouldn't matter.
By the way her face looks in the commercial, I doubt she's lost much, if any of the weight. I hope it wasn't on purpose. I assume she just let herself eat what she wanted and she gained a lot. It seems like she has always struggled with her weight, so it doesn't seem abnormal for her to have gained what she did, IMO. I don't judge her. It's hard. I really hope WW works for her. Signed, Mom of two whose youngest is 15 months, who's still hanging on to close to 30 lbs. FWIW, I gained 50 with DS.
If I had to be all skinny like she was in the video for "These Boots are Made for Walking", I'd be stuffing my face with all kinds of shit for years to come.
I think Jessica Simpson is like 95% of women and prone to weight gain unless she controls it really well. I think it is so annoying that those commercials show only her head and not even her shoulders/chest.
I'm not sure if it's true, but I heard that the video was shot while she was still pg. Hence, the shot stopping at her chest. It would make sense though, so her "after" shot would look that much more impressive.
Thats what I thought. They want you to be bigger before so you look smaller after. More drastic change. And you can lose less and still have a good change.

If she ate whatever she wanted during her pregnancy and didn't work out, then once the baby came she started eating right and exercising every day, some weight would come off relatively quickly, correct?
I'm assuming that she's no losing as fast as WW ways her to (or something like that), and thus no "look at me now!" Commercials. If that's the case, I think it only makes her more relatable. I know t's not the message that WW wants to send, but many, most, people find losing weight to be difficult, even with outside resources.
No, I don't think she gained more weight on purpose. I think she is the type of person who probably struggles with her weight, and being pregnant didn't help tings. Ad no, I don't think she embraced the weight gain. She was quoted as saying she enjoyed being pregnant, but wanted her body back.
And I hear that being a celeb on WW isn't all it's cracked up to be, so I don't see that being some big incentive.
I can imagine the ads only show her head because they don't want a randome person channel surfing and thinking her "before" is her "after". Plus I'm sure they're going to drum up hype for the Big Reveal at the end.
Honestly, I was kinda happy with Jenna Fischer (Pam from The Office) who stated that her baby weight didn't just melt off and that it was going to take some time for her to get back to a pre-pregnancy body. That seems way more realistic to me.

I saw The Office episode where she and Angela both came back from maternity leave, and Pam looked like a normal PP woman whereas Angela was her usual skinny minnie self, and Pam gave the camera a giant WTF look.
But Angela wasn't pregnant IRL like Pam was, right?

Honestly I think this would be good for WW anyway. It isn't a miracle cure and even on a great program the weight doesn't fall off. I could see a "real" person getting very frustrated if she was trying to lose weight following the same program as a celebrity who seemed to lose it effortlessly. I think the message that it works - but that it is hard work and takes time - is more effective in keeping WW customers. WW doesn't get as much money if people join and then quit because they aren't getting the results they expected, KWIM?

I don't think she gained weight on purpose, but she probably decided she wanted to eat whatever she wanted while she was pregnant and that weight isn't coming off as easily as she and everyone else had hoped.
She's fluctuated over the years and has been critisized multiple times for getting too fat. She's probably been fighting her natural set point forever
I agree she is probably meant to be heavier than she allowed herself to be for many years. (Isn't this the case with every celebrity?) That said, I don't think she is naturally meant to be heavy.
Even when I am so skinny people tell me to gain weight, my legs are not slim. But if you look at older pics of her, she has amazing legs. That's a telltale sign for me.
I think some women use pregnancy as an excuse to eat everything under the sun. The whole "eating for two" is taken literally and they dive headlong into the cravings and all that crap. Anecdotally speaking, it never works out well and they always regret it.
I did this with my first and gained 50lbs. It was not pretty. I am built similiar to JS too (short, small torso) so I looked a bit like she did at the end.
This pregnancy I have been much, much more controlled.
That said, some women really are more prone to gain weight when pregnant, no matter what. But some eat an entire bag of doritos in one sitting too.
