I've been meaning to ask you, are you in med school? I thought I saw something on the old board about that, but I could be wrong. Just curious since I'm in med school too :-)

oh fun! :-) I'm actually in Sweden. I'm American, but moved here with my Swedish DH. When I decided I wanted to go to med school, I had a hard time deciding whether or not to apply here, or move back to go to school. I ended up applying, and to my complete and utter surprise, I got in. And, well, you don't turn down a spot in med school! It's been difficult doing everything in Swedish, but it's also free, which is a huge plus. I'm just finishing up my 4th year. We have summers off here, and it's 5.5 years total.
What rotation are you doing? I don't know what I want to go into yet. Do you? I also have to decide whether I'm going to do my residency here or in the US. Right now it's looking like the US, but we'll see.

I'm interested in OB/GYN but I don't know if I want that lifestyle. My mom is an OB/GYN and she did her residency when I was a kid, and I pretty much never saw her. It's too bad the hours are so ridiculous.
Have fun in ENT! I thought it sounded really boring, but then I saw some cool surgeries when I was on my anesthesia rotation, and it's actually really interesting.
Yeah, the summers off are really nice. I'm going to be working in the NICU this summer, and doing research, so it'll be fun.
I don't know where we want to end up...that's what's so difficult about picking where to do residency. The problem is, if I don't do my residency in the US, I can never work there, which would suck. I don't want to be stuck here for the rest of my life just because I can't work in the US, you know? But it's also pretty hard to get a residency spot if you didn't go to med school in the US. So this is my current life crisis, lol!
I just read your blog about your upcoming adventure - that sounds amazing! :-)
