Apparently you need a flexible hose from the tank to the water supply. Ours is a solid pipe. We thought we could just swap it for a hose we picked up at Home Depot, but the pipe is actually connected to the flushing mechanisms...
Anyone else have this? Can you suggest a workaround that does not involve a plumber? Or does anyone CD without a sprayer?

We have a sprayer, but I actually prefer to scrape with a plastic spatula most of the time. I think I have an overly shallow toilet and I feel like I get too much back spray with the sprayer no matter how low I turn it.

We don't have a sprayer, for the same reason as you actually. I rinse into a 5 gallon bucket under the bathtub faucet, then dumb the bucket into the toilet.

The spatula is liek a cheapo rubber kitchen one. It has a little hole in the handle so we just put a thumbtack on the wall and hang it next to the toilet (I obviously clean it each time so there is not a poo covered spatula) Thank GOD DS is out of the non ploppable poo stage (for now anyway)
These are good ideas- thanks, guys. We were originally going to start our CD test drive today, but after last night's installation fiasco, we put it off...
I bought a length of fleece and cut liners out of it. We put on in every diaper, washed the pee ones and tossed the poop ones in the trash (I tried to plop as much in the toilet as would go). I'm not a fan of flushing anything, even stuff labeled as "flushable," so this was a good option for us. I heard too much about the sprayers backspraying as pp said. I also had plastic knives in case we had a diaper that didn't get a liner, and I would toss those.
Sorry, but this seems to defeat the purpose of cloth diapers. Throwing away fabric every time the kid had a poop? That seems like a lot of waste of both money and resources.
I use a bucket either in the bathtub or the sink and just disinfect everything after in case there is back spray. Mostly everything is ploppable these days, but i sprayed newborn poo too. I've read about people getting the 12 foot pet showers that reach to their toilet.
I've used CDs on 2 kids and never owned a sprayer or a scraper. If it stuck on that much, I used a cloth wipe to knock it off. If it stayed on, then it went into the wash that way. It was never a problem.
An old washer is probably a BETTER option for CDs because they use more water. #3 will be my first kid in CDs with a new-fangled washing machine and I'm a little nervous about it.
