Is monster.com still popular and useful?

I haven't had much luck. There are some good postings but you have to dig through a lot of crap listings

I used Indeed.com this last time. Two different friends had recommended it. I believe it collects info from various other sites, including Monster.

What industry are you in? Some have specific job search sites. I'm an editor and I've had a lot of luck with mediabistro.com (also good for writers, graphic designers and PR).

Our company posts all our openings on Monster.com. But I agree with others about indeed.com. If you go to indeed it is an aggregator of all the sites and will pull from monster.com anyway.

Just a warning about indeed. It is a spider site and it used to have jobs up that I took down months earlier still up.

If you find a posting go to the company's website and make sure it is still current.
