...is it common to feel more anxious than usual? I started taking Viibryd, and my doctor started me on 5 mg and instructed me to increase to 10 mg after two weeks. When I increased the dosage, I noticed that I was very anxious and irritable. Is this normal?
It can be. When I changed medications I also changed my dose. The first two weeks I felt on eddddddge. Like, couldn't sit still and was always a bit twitchy and anxious. My doctor said upfront I might feel a little odd for a few weeks but any side effects should taper off. And once I got past that I felt great!
Do you have a followup appointment to discuss how the medication is going? How long have you been taking the new dose?
I have been taking the new dose for three days. I feel kind of antsy and anxious, but I definitely feel better today than I did last night.
I switched from Celexa (I was on 10 mg of that, reduced to 5 mg for a week) to Viibryd (5 mg for a week, increased to 10). When I reduced the dose of Celexa, I felt a little lightheaded and funny, but once I started the Viibryd, I felt really good until I increased the dose. I thought I read that increasing dosages can increase anxiety for a week or so.
