I just went to the drugstore to buy a basal body temp thermometer. First store claimed they don't exist. 2nd store tried to sell me super expensive ear thermometer. 3rd store I figured I'd just ask for very accurate (to 1/100 of a degree C).
They had 2 types, one went to tenths of degrees. The other one didn't say. Lady calls headquarters- they don't know. Lady calls manufacturer, they sold the division. She finally finds the correct number and gets told: oh, the person who knows that stuff doesn't work here anymore.
The sales person and I ended up laughing our asses off.
Awesome service by her, but terrible by Braun.....

I ordered mine on amazon :-) And Taking Charge of Your Fertility says you don't need to go to the 1/100 degree, but after temping for a few months, I'd highly recommend it, as do most of the TTGPers. Have you signed up for Fertility Friend? It's a really easy way to keep track of temps and other fertility signs, and if you don't get the VIP version, it's free (I haven't seen a reason to get VIP yet).

I haven't signed up for fertility friend yet, I've got another fancy schmancy app on my phone. I'll see how things go with the thermometer I bought now (after her calling everybody and their dog I felt bad about not buying it, plus, it did get good reviews for accuracy, so if not for this, it's always good to have an extra thermometer.)

Etos. They aren't labeled as anything special but they go to 1/100. €10.
And when you get pregnant, don't let the kraamzorg use it to ass-temp your baby and claim a quick wipe with alcohol will make it fine for your mouth. You cannot wipe away the yuck factor.

Thanks! The current etos ones (or the one they had at my local etos) only went to 1/10. The one I finally took home with me, after her 10 million phone calls, is 1/10 as well. I'll do 1 cycle with that one and if I don't see enough of a change, I'll hunt down every etos in the country to find one that goes to 1/100.
And yeah, yuck, alcohol wipes can do a lot, but not take away that yuck!
