We're having a Memorial Day Murph event at our gym and having a Paleo cookout afterwards! I'm not sure if I'm participating though. Unfortunately I'm out of town for the weekend. =(
yea we are having a memorial day party with our Box AND doing this workout later too.
holy shit! I just looked at what the WOD entails....OMG! THis is going to take like 30+ minutes! I am going to die...at least I still do jumping pullups!

We did "Angie" Friday so I know I can so the 100 pullups with the band. It's running a mile after 300 squats that scares me!

And 200 push ups? Yuck!
I think my #s will be modifed though, bc seriously, its going to take me like 30-60 minutes to do this whole thing. I am fine with the running part, its the pushups and squats I am scared of!

The pushups are what scare me. Pull ups can be done with the band. I did death by air squats after my 5k on Saturday and got to 520, so that's not the issue. The pushups will be the death of me.
We're doing it. There will be solo and team heats, and I'm going to do the team version, probably with the other pregnant women at the box. It's nice that it's basically no pressure because we're just going to waddle our way through it and know we'll wind up last. We have built in body armor!

You can partition it, though, so I'd just break it up into sets--10 pull-ups, 20 push-ups, 30 squats, repeat X 10. Your arms will get a chance to rest during the squats.

I will be doing it. I feel like I did a half murph a long time ago and it took forever. I'm already 20 lbs. overweight, so I think I can forego the weight vest!

Our box is doing it. I'm really considering it, except for two things: 1. I only started CrossFit 6 weeks ago. I'm in decent shape, but I'm afraid of being terrible at this and/or last to finish. 2. It's going to be over 90* that day. I can't run if it's over 80*, so thinking of doing all of this in the 90s is giving me a panic attack.
H and I might just do it at home in the morning when it's not ungodly hot out, but I really do hate to miss out on the camaraderie at our box.

Ask if they're doing any scaled versions. We're going to have Rx, scaled (halving the reps, I think), and team versions of it going all at once.

This. Most people will be scaled at my box bc I know one of the trainers took 50 minutes to do Murph last year!

So, our box is closed Memorial Day - but we're doing Murph tomorrow. I'm weirdly looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time. Did you know Rx'd is with a weighted vest!? I will NOT be doing that.

^^ that's what I plan to do except break it down further. 5 Pull ups, 10 push ups & 15 squats. I know I can do pull ups without a band 5 at a time, but not 10 at a time. We'll see how it goes in the morning!! :::insert pukie:::

I know! I don't think I will be either. Although mine won't be Rx'd anyhow.

I did the same thing...actually our scale was all the "work" and half the running or all the running and half the "work". I did all the running and 1/2 the work and it took me forever because I'm slow in general and a super slow runner. Our box hasn't announced the MD workout but we are open that morning so I assume we may be doing Murph.
I wound up doing a partner Murph. So, we did a half mile run together, split all the work, and then ran a half mile together at the end. Finished in 32:33. I was tempted to go for the full, but it was super hot out and I didn't want to be stupid.
