This is what the doctor said to me. I dont believe her. I think she says it to every Mom (good idea) or she could see my fear and self-doubt in my eyes.
But it worked in the moment and I walked home with my head a little higher. Even if it did take 5 minutes of baby screaming/writhing to get my kid into the stroller.
My favorite comment so far was from another mom at the pedi's office when DD was about a month old. She just looked at me and said, "It gets so much better and so much easier."
I don't know if I looked frazzled or what, but it was so nice to have someone acknowlege that newborns are hard!! It seemed like everyone else was telling me how easy I had it and "Just wait..." (until she's crawling/talking/walking/you have another, etc, etc, etc.)

I just said this to a mom yesterday in the grocery store parking lot. It wasn't that she looked frazzled so much as how stable and relaxed can a FTM be with a one month old. She just looked at me with this look like "OMG, you get it!" and thanked me. It was either the comment or I was going to go over and give her a big ol hug. LOL
My midwife keeps telling me she can tell I'm really strong and am cut out for home birth. I totally think she tells everyone the same thing - although I still believe her.
