We registered at BRU and Amazon. BRU because we wanted a brick-and-mortar store, Amazon because it was so easy and they had a good completion discount.
Honestly I can think of very little that we have that I would say we could live without. We love just about everything lol. But our faves are/were the video monitor, the arms reach co-sleeper, and the swing.

Buy buy baby because the babies r us near us is horrible and target has an awful gift return policy.
Oh dear, I can't remember everything. I know someone posted about this before. Not sure if anyone can find that link. I'll give you most everything I used, but it all depends in the kid. Example, One of my kids loved the swaddle, the other one hated it. Changing pad Crib sheets & mattress protector Crib mobile Bottles Sterilizer Bottle drying rack Dishes, cups, bowls Bibs Towels & washcloths Baby wash & lotion Bathtub Grooming kit Thermometer Mamaroo swing High chairs Car seats Bouncy seat Bumbo Swaddles & swaddle blankets Activity mat Glider for rocking
Target and Amazon. We could live without our monitor, travel changing mat, and that's about it. We registered for very minimal items though. We got a lot of things from consignment sales and my office and DH's office threw us small showers (mostly GCs) and that's it. We knew this ahead of time so most of the stuff on our registry was the necessities so we could use the completion coupons on them.

We did Babies R Us because while we have Buy Buy Baby here, it isn't convienent for a majority of the guests. Then we also did Amazon because a lot of items are cheaper there than at BRU (even with coupons) and they offer a 10% completion discount.
We did this 4 years ago- Target and Walmart. Buy buy Baby and amazon just weren't as popular or easy and Babies R Us scared me. We lived in BFE and had a lot of family friends that lived in bfe. My only couldn't live without was a swaddle.

I feel like I can't even remember. I'm so screwed when this baby comes!
I know I registered at Babies R Us. Definitely don't do Target because their returns policies will make you crazy. If we'd had a Buy Buy Baby at the time, I would probably have done that.
As far as can't live without items, all I can remember are: The Miracle Blanket (my kid could break out of all other swaddles at 1 week old) Boppy Pillow Bouncy seat (one with an actual wire frame so it moves when the baby has the startle reflex) A baby carrier (I went through several. I plan to try to conquer the Moby wrap for #2)
Thank you ladies for all your replies. I would like to do Buy Buy Baby, but the closed store to me is an hour away. However, there are locations close to most of my shower guests. I loathe BRU. I went in the location near me and it was so dirty and reaked of urine.
