Got contacted recently by a recruiter on LinkedIn and am going in this afternoon for a preliminary interview! I have no idea who the potential employer is but I know the position is something that is in line with my field of work so am anxious to find out more information and see what the possibilities are.
F&Ts crossed and lots of GL dust would be greatly appreciated!
Preliminary done; hah! All it was was signing some paperwork with a job placement agency and getting the name of the company and the address. Official interview is tomorrow morning at 9am. Gulp!
The line of work is similar; but it also a major step up in job title and not so much creative and more prepress work as well as managerial. Definitely a bit out of my comfort zone; but how else do we learn?
Holy crap I've forgotten how much I hate the interview process. I think it went well and I have to remind myself that it was me who was pursued rather than the other way around. Before yesterday I have truly never heard of this company. The guy I would potentially be replacing is retiring soon and they are looking to hire someone to basically fill in the graphics shoes… and it would be pretty big shoes to fill. I do feel confident that I could learn to do this job and do it well; we'll see if they feel the same. In the meantime they have my salary requirements and I'll be following up with a thank you note. This girl does have manners.
