Second Birthday

I'm feeling extremely uncreative about DS's second birthday on Thursday. So much so that I haven't even nailed down a date for his party.

He's in love with Elmo, so I know that we are going to do the Sesame Street character veggie trays that are hanging around on Pintrest.

Are there any other great ideas for birthday parties? I don't even know what to serve or who to invite.

Last year I was all into a party and made a fondant cake and table decs, etc. and this year I'm just blah.

My son turned 2 over the weekend, and we did an Elmo fiesta. It was great!







I intended to do a taco bar with meats made in crock pots. This blog has links to good meat recipes for a taco bar.

I ended up getting a bad cold and feeling horrible, so we ended up just getting chips and dip from a Mexican restaurant, some stuff from the grocery store that just needed to be heated up, and then did a salad and fresh berries.

I ordered little sombreros and maracas from Amazon.com, as well as some cute candles to put on the cake (sombrero, cactus, maracas, etc).

He had a blast and everyone thought it was really cute.

Our party was family only with about 15 people. When we were thinking about doing a big party I was going to rent a frozen margarita machine.
