I am 16 days dpo and I got a BFN. AF should show up in the next day or two. I guess anything could happen but I am kinda bummed and need to "tell" somebody!!!!

This is only cycle 1 so I should chill out right?

Indeed, a BFN always sucks. Its ok to be sad, just try not to let it get you too down.

The time after ovulation is the Luteal Phase. It's supposed to be 12-16 days long to allow time for a fertilized egg to implant. If your LP is shorter than that, your lining will start shedding (period) and an egg may not have an opportunity to implant. 16 days gives your egg maximum time to implant if it's ready to, so it's a really good thing!

Compare you to me. I start spotting at 6-7 DPO and continue spotting for a week before I really bleed for only a day or two - this isn't normal and is likely caused by some hormonal imbalance, but it's too early to go to a doctor yet.

Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility yet? You really should!
