The rollout has begun. Let me know if you have questions along the way and I'll try to answer/update as I know more. So far those people that can see the changes really like them. Oh, and nothing links to FB or anything crazy Here is what I know (C&P'd from the Mod board):
.) Like button
.) Notifications -- there is a notification area in your profile that notifies you if someone tags you, replies to your post,
.) @ tagging - you can tag another user in your post - this will send them a notification
.) Participated - just like on the app, there will be a participated threads tab on the website now
.) Proboards+ - an option for individual users to buy ad-free credits only for themselves, instead of making the whole board ad-free. I know there were several people asking for this when we came here.
.) UTF-8 compliant - so no more weird formatting characters in c&p'ed articles
.) A lot of the things that we had to add extra codes for - like blocking people, the sidebar links, auto-resize large images, etc - will all be standard. Blocking people will actually block them completely now instead of just hiding their text in a post.
.) The search is MUCH nicer & easier to use. Soooooo much better than the weird clunky format they are using now.
.) It's a lot more private for users. We will not be able to see their email addy or IP anymore. (We can still ban users by them, we just can't see them.) There is also this 'global login' feature that makes it really easy to switch accounts, so if you have AEs or accounts on other proboards boards you don't have to remember the username/password for each one - they will all use the same login (which will be your email & password--when we switch all of the users will have to set up their new email/password global login), and then after you log in it asks which account you would like to use.
