can someone fill me in on why they hated danielle so much? I just watched this and am pretty appalled at how they treated her. I don't know the backstory. But it seemed like the other women dug up some info about her past and then started showing everyone?
Teresa flipped the table to take the heat off of Dina I thought.

Why did Dina & Caroline not like her in season 1. Was she doing anything to them? These women are all insane, I can't believe I am watching any of this, lol

OK yeh, I guess I just don't understand. Doesn't seem right that Danielle was casted on this show and then Dina & Caroline run her off. I kind of feel bad for her. Do you know anything about Danielle before she was on this show? What was her job? How did she have money?
And yeh, I just find Jac annoying. She acts like a teenager, so she probably doesn't have any good judgment.

Eww i just read that Bravo knew about the book and Danielle's past and casted her b/c of it with the storyline of that coming out. Man, Bravo is evil. I also think they knew Melissa wanted to hurt Teresa and that was why they casted her too.
Nasty. I feel dirty for ever even watching this crap.

I wonder what the people of the town they live in think of them. And yeh I agree that they should recast the entire show. It's like they took the most classless, fame hungry women they could find, put them in mansions and told them to go at it with each other.

These women were probably hot messes before, but now the whole world knows and it must effect their kids, parents and families. It must magnify their issues x 1000. It's terrible when you think about it.
You should watch the first few seasons to get the back story on Danielle. When the show first started, she wanted to fit in really badly with the Manzos. It was to the point where it was almost creepy and obsessive. She also had very strange relationships as well. She acted strange in front of her own daughters, too. She would talk to them about her adult issues with the other women.
I remember on one episode she didn't get invited to some fundraising party and she wanted to go there anyway, maybe just to drive by? I think one of her daughters was in the car and was begging her not to do it. It was just sad.

It sounds like they took a mentally unstable woman, put her on tv and waited for the manzos to run her over. The whole exploitation is really awful. I can't imagine why anyone would want to so publicly ruin someone else. I know these women sign up for it, but I just could never do it. I am starting to hate the manzos. They seem like horrible people.
And then there was the whole part where Danielle was hanging out with Ex-cons and brought a big group of them to a charity event at the Brownstone without paying for anyone. And she was offended that they didn't make room for her and 20 hells angels.

Rumor has it that the Danielle vs. Dina drama began before filming. Apparently Bravo gave the castmembers very lean contracts and Dina suggested that they hire an entertainment law firm to negotiate the terms. All the housewives were on board with that idea, and were pleased with their revised contracts. However, when the legal bill came, Danielle refused to pay her portion of the fees. This is what ticked Dina off.
They all know what they signed up for. I mean they are even a part of the storyline discussion before the season begins with the producers so it's not like they have no idea what's going to come up or happen in some way or another.

I agree to an extent, however, I think the network/producers/ whoever is in charge also take advantage of people and then others are effected who have no control in the situation, like kids and parents. I don't watch much reality "trash" tv, actually this is prob the first that I have ever gotten a bit into and I am really horrified the more I learn about it. I just find it all so negative and exploiting. I didn't see the seasons w/ danielle, but from what i read the past few days, she seems mentally unstable. I would think the producers do some kind of investigation on these people and have an idea about them. i don't know, it's just makes me feel really uneasy that this is what our society is becoming. Too many people seem to get joy from other people being publicly humiliated. It's sad. I guess this is why I don't usually watch this stuff, lol.

You are putting too much blame on Bravo here. Season One starts with Jac and Teresa following Danielle on a blind date, they're all friends, etc. But Danielle becomes obsessed with Dina, as someone else mentioned and started to do some underhanded things with Jac especially. There was really no way for Bravo to know that she was nuts.
And if you were a "prositution whore" in the past, you are a moron not to realize this was going to come out. She was in jail FFS. She ended up doing something shady with Dina and her kid (which has never been explained and Dina has not wanted public) and realy started to go after these women.
IDK, I think you know what you are getting yourself into, especially since these shows have been on for so long. These women want the fame and the money and while it may not be fair, there's a price to that.

I think you're jumping to a lot of conclusions here without having actually watched the show. I don't think they knew Danielle was mentally unstable when they hired her. I actually believe they fired her when they realized she had a few screws loose.

No you're right, I haven't watched the show until recently. But I did read that bravo knew about danielles past when they casted her. just seems like some of these women are really screwy and bravo takes advantage of it b/c they know it will bring drama and ratings. I feel bad for the casualties in this, like danielle's kids and the gorga parents.
i know it's part of our culture to love drama that these kinds of shows bring. I am a bit disturbed by it. again, I usually don't watch these kinds of shows, so I guess it's kind of surprising to me how much drama there really is.

While the producers most likely knew about Danielle's past life, I'm sure they didn't realize that she was mentally unstable. Actually, I'm not even sure if she's mentally unstable. She just seems like a broken woman trying to defend herself against the mean girls.
I think the producers DID cross the line when they cast the Gorgas and Wakiles. They knew exactly what was gonna happen. It's shameful, really.
