my brother is getting married in June, so I'll be going to Colorado, and my HS reunion is that next week too. Might go with H on a TDY trip to Miami at the end of July. Moving to school in August. Also, I am getting a shiny new computer for school so I am super pumped about that!!

We are moving to our home state at the end of June/early July. I need to make a final decision on a rental and work on getting this house all packed up and ready for inspection. Excited that I'll be delivering with the practice that delivered IJC and in the same hospital, even though H won't be there.
I am planning on taking DS on a camping trip just the two of us in August, before he starts DK. I've been making a list of things I want to do while we are in Michigan. Things that I loved as a kid and something for us to focus on so that the year will be memorable in other ways than just that Daddy was off working. He's been loving helping me plan some activities.
Oh, and having this baby in September. I know that isn't really summer but it's the tail end.

You mean, in addition to Singapore? Once that's done, I have to settle into reality and job hunting. Boo.
While in Singapore, I hope to see Angkor Wat, Ho Chi Mihn City, take a junk cruise in Halong bay, dive anywhere, see the orangutans in Borneo, head up to Kuala Lumpur, take the ferries to some Indonesian islands... um, my month is going to go fast, isn't it?
H's drop night is July 13. My BFF is getting married July 21. H graduates July 27. We are going to Europe in August or September. Other BFF gets married September 15.

I used to read the blog of a Navy wife while they were stationed on Guam and she went with her husband to Singapore for a visit. They did much of what is on your list. The pictures were beautiful and the stories were captivating. You will have so much fun! Can't wait to hear/see it all. If you choose to post it here, of course.
Are you returning to HI after, or will you guys be PCS'ing?
Not too much on the summer agenda at this point. DH and I both have some work travel. Sadly, it's at opposite schedules, although that might make it possible for him to join me on one of my trips (*crosses fingers*).
Tagging along to Miami would be a pretty sweet deal! Is your H staying where you are or moving to a base closer to where you'll be going to school?
He is attached to this unit for a year after his training was up. He kind of got dicked around in the deal, and isn't doing what he is supposed to be doing yet, so his ... CO? dude... pretty much guaranteed (as much as can happen in the military) that he would get at the base right where I am at school after that. So he should be there late spring next year. Plus he has to go to SERE and jump school this fall plus some other trainings, so it wont be that big of a deal that we'll be apart.

I keep thinking we'll get to do some fun stuff this summer because Bean is at an age where she can be more independent and can enjoy stuff more. And then I remember K in his boot. It'll be a summer of nothin awesome.
Now that hubby is home and will have block leave things are up in the air and a lot of what we do will be on a whim.
Basically lots of flying, trains/buses, road trips and getting ridiculously wasted (hopefully). My birthday is next month and is on a weekend so we will probably spend it in NY with my friends buying me shots and taking pictures of us acting like assholes.
Last year, on our way home from China we were supposed to stop in Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Cooks before heading home. We actually had everything booked and almost completely paid for. At the last minute, I decided we should get trip insurance, and sure enough, DH's monitor switched him from one command to another and he had to head back to go to Afghansitan for a predeployment thing. So, we had to cancel, but luckily trip insurance saved us thousands of dollars.
SO, the Cooks have been on our list, and with my work, I don't have that much time off yet since I'm fairly new. The Cooks work out perfectly... we'll be going for a week (the flights from LAX are once a week, so you either need to go for 1 week or 2). We are primarily staying on Rarotonga but will most likely either take a day trip to or spend a night on Aitutaki. The flight is about 10 hours but it's only 3 hours behind CA, so the adjustment will be super easy. I hate that we will be so close to New Zealand & even Australia without hopping over.... but... I just can't take that long of a trip right now.
Anyway we are super excited! We go next month. Have you been?
My family rents a house in Duck each summer and I haven't been able to make it the last couple years, so hopefully we can go this year. DS has the first of his (hopefully only) 2 surgeries Sept 6th. It's 3 1/2 months out, but I'm scared already...

I haven't, but it's so close to Hawaii that it's on my list. I've heard that, these days, it's a much better trip than Tahiti. That's why I want to know.
Also, if I just have to stop in NZ, I'm ok with that I think there are non stop flights from Honolulu, though.

Have you been to Tahiti? We went in 2007 and it was amazing. I'm excited to see the difference and how the Cooks compare! We are hoping to move to Hawaii next, unless we can get Australia. I'd love to be close to French Polynesia/the Cooks/everything over "there." Reasonably close anyway. I bet the flights are still expensive though.

I haven't been to Tahiti, either. Nothing in the South Pacific.
Part of the reason we went to Europe a couple weeks ago is it was cheaper than going to anywhere in Asia. Yeah, that makes sense. 30 hours of travel vs 8, but it's still cheaper.
I think part of my reluctance is that those areas are couple travel IMO. I'll go travel on my own to so many places, but not to a romantic place. I hope to get to somewhere in the area soon, though.
Friends of ours (they're a couple) are in the middle east, so they're hoping to take a mid-tour to Fiji, or near, this fall, and we hope to join then. It would be amazing.

T has to go to Ft. Knox at the beginning of June as a sponsor for the Best Warrior Competition. At the end of June we have Sophia's 1st birthday and my cousin's wedding and then Sophia's party all back to back to back.
July is quiet.
I'm going to BlogHer12 the first weekend in August. Labor Day weekend we have a wedding...just got the save the date today.
I take my boards to become a registered nurse in exactly 3 weeks so I'll be studying until then! We have a wedding to go to in June, I start my new job in July, and my parents are going to visit for my birthday. I feel like I need to plan a fun getaway with H before I start my new job! Hmm...
This summer will bring lots of fun things. Most importantly: Homecoming!!! And then our post deployment trip, multiple weddings of really good friends which will be a blast, our wedding anniversary, my birthday, lots of exciting fun things.

I'd like to take a long weekend somewhere. Maybe Ocean City MD or Cape May. I have no clue yet and all the planning will fall to me so we shall see if it actually happens.
IL's are coming out to visit soon. C's turning 1. We are going home for a wedding in Aug! That should be fun!
