Did anyone have any luck with those motion sickness wrist bands for nausea? I am suffering pretty badly from all day nausea (no puking yet) and am willing to try anything. I'm trying to keep food in my stomach even though nothing sounds good and I have no appetite at all. But what else can I do? This is miserable. I'm sitting at my desk wishing I was laying down at home, which is basically the only thing that makes the nausea go away. I'm 8.5 weeks and I don't know how much more of this I can handle. I always thought I had a strong tolerance for pain but I've never been good at handling nausea. After my m/c I always said I would never complain during pregnancy, but here I am throwing myself a pity party.
I didn't use the bands because they are ridiculous looking. However, my acupuncturist showed me the point on my wrist that I could press to relieve nausea, and it helped. It was especially useful when I'd have a sudden wave of nausea in a public place and needed to do something discreet.
You should be able to find something online about how to locate that point, it's pretty easy--about three fingers up your arm from your wrist between the two main tendons there.
Also, get a script for Zofran. That stuff is great.

Great, I see my obgyn tomorrow morning so I will ask about the Zofran. I thought I had read it only stops the puking but not the nausea so I hadn't even considered it.
I'd rather not wear the bands because I'd have to cover them with long sleeves and it is already in the 90s here most days.

Yeah, I didn't puke once, but had all-day constant nausea that made it difficult to eat anything at all. I still got a script for Zofran and it made a big difference. Just take it with Colace and/or the occasional Miralax.

The bands didn't work for me either, though they work great for my husband's car sickness. Zofran was faaaabulous. Start taking colace with it though. The constipation can be brutal if you don't stay ahead of it.

I nearly could have written this post myself. I've not thrown up, but the thought of eating anything to quell this constant nausea is so gross right now. I'll be asking about the Zofran at my appt!

I wore them and they seemed to help. I also ate candied ginger. I had to force myself to eat it and initially it made me feel worse, but after 15 minutes no nausea. I also never let my stomach get empty. If I thought I was nauseous, I would eat. I also loved lollipops and jolly ranchers.

My Zofran prescription is being filled as we speak. I'm a little concerned about the issues that come along with it though, lol. I love my OB, she filled it without a second thought. I was prepared to fight for it.

I should have counted my blessings yesterday! My dr. recommended Emetrol for the nausea, but I am thinking I will ask for the Zofran at tomorrow's appt!
