I have a co-worker who asks me every time I see her (1-2x per week) if I am still breastfeeding. We are friendly and all, but we could be talking about whooping cough and the next sentence out of her mouth will be "are you still breastfeeding?" I realize that nursing my 18 month old is a little unusual in some parts, but it's fairly common here.
I don't mind talking about it, but it just seems so odd. Her kid is grown, so it's not like she's trying to form some common ground. This happens no matter who else is around.
I tell ya, I was really blessed by the o-worker gods.

That is kind of awkward. Maybe she's "competing" with you (aka comparing how long you're nursing against how long she nursed her kid, or her friends nursed theirs or something??).

I never thought about it that way. She id tell me one time she wished she had nursed her son longer. She's always really positive about it, maybe she has some kind of bet going
